Segawa is a master teacher in ballet and modern dance. He teaches company class for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and frequently conducts master classes, workshops, outreach programs and has held artistic residencies in numerous institutions around the US and Asia. Since 2013, Segawa has led the Ailey Trio outreach program in Kansas City.
